Cindy Polemis looks at some of today’s leading young contemporary artists who exploit the unique characteristics of painting to create fresh and compelling images that reflect and articulate the times we are living through. Is this time honoured medium of art best suited to explore the complexity of our age?
Cindy Polemis is an art historian and an independent lecturer and tour guide. She has a BA in History from Oxford University and as a mature student she graduated from Birkbeck College, London University with an MA in History of Art. She spent many years as a radio producer and presenter for BBC World Service. Since 2016 she has been an official art guide at Tate Modern and Tate Britain and she is an accredited lecturer for The Arts Society. This is a welcome real life talk after Cindy has given us two very informative Zoom lectures on The Art of the Metropolis, and on Op Art.
