Churchill the Artist

Ian Swankie

5 October 2026

While best known as Britain's wartime leader, Winston Churchill was also a passionate and very accomplished artist. This talk explores Churchill's lifelong love of painting, how it provided solace during times of great pressure, and the remarkable body of work he created. Through his landscapes, seascapes and urban scenes we discover a lesser-known side of one of the twentieth century's most influential figures.
