Jan van Eyck Portraits

Clare Ford-Wille

16 November 2026

This winter, for the first time in history, all of Jan Van Eyck's portraits will be on display together at the National Gallery. He had incredible skill and captured many intimate details of his subjects. Although he was a court painter in the 1400s, he also captured and recorded the faces of ordinary people at the time. Clare will get us in the mood for the National Gallery's show which opens on 21st November.
