Trees of London
Paul Wood
2 November 2026
London's streets are actually an amazing 'urban arboretum' where over 500 varieties of trees can be found growing. Of course, there are London planes, but there's also everything from glorious Magnolias to fruiting Olive trees, beautiful Persian Silk trees to towering Dawn Redwoods. This is an introduction to the remarkable diversity of street trees and their stories.
Paul Wood

The aptly named Paul Wood published the first edition of his book, London's Street Trees, in 2017. The idea of a whole book about London's street trees seemed somewhat esoteric – weren't they all just London Planes? But Paul Wood's brilliant and acclaimed book went on to sell out multiple printings and is now in its third edition. Paul has published several other books including Tree Hunting in 2025, his guided tree walks frequently sell out and he is a very engaging and popular speaker.
